The Bil-isan Street Dancing Contingent bested nine other groups to romp away with the first prize in the recent Hudyaka sa Panglao, street dancing competition featuring all barangays of the town. The “Hudyaka” which is now on its 25-year is a yearly revelry highlighting Panglao’s town fiesta. The street-dance competition is a brainchild of Mayor Benedicto Alcala which he spearheaded during his first term in office as Panglao mayor. The Bil-isan group went home with P75,000 as the grand prize. The pot money for the champion was courtesy of Bellevue Bohol. The new hotel, the first high rise resort in Panglao is owned by Johnny Chan of the Bellevue Group fame. The second prize went to Tabalong which pocketed the P50,000 cash prize. The Monorealty Corp. thru Engr. Manuel Mendoza was the prize giver. Third placer was barangay Poblacion which pocketed P25,000 prize money. The donation for the third place came from Elvieh Sarmiento, consultant of Bellevue Bohol. She is also the owner-proprietor of LV Transport & Tagbilaran Land Sea Air Tours and Travel.
