1st high rise resort rises up in Panglao

The first high-rise resort is rising in the powdery sands of barangay Doljo, Panglao Island. All of five floors, the Bellevue Bohol is supposed to have its grand opening in time for Tuesday’s feast of St. Agustine, the town’s patron saint. According to Mayor Benedicto Alcala, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jiminez was invited as the guest of honor but the sudden death of Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo cancelled what was supposed to be the resort’s grand opening. Mayor Alcala invited Sec. Jiminez as the guest of the town’s during the “ Hudyaka sa Panglao”, the main highlight of the fiesta celebration.

Gov. Edgar Chatto informed Mayor Alcala of the DOT secretary’s unavailability as Pres. P-noy ordered all Cabinet men to be in Naga on Tuesday’s Robledo’s internment. With the postponement of the blessing, it was learned that the blessing of the new resort will take place in October. The island of Panglao will be more inviting with the opening of The Bellevue Bohol in 2012. Destined to be the preferred vacation destination of travellers with discriminating tastes, The Bellevue Bohol gives new meaning to the island getaway concept. Picture exquisitely designed guestrooms with spectacular views of the sea, a spa village dedicated to the pursuit of wellness, and recreation facilities to please the guest’s every whim. The Bellevue Bohol will offer a 250-meter of sugary white sand beach, an infinity pool, two bars, a Thai Spa, gym and fitness center and indoor and outdoor children’s play area. Completing this island getaway is 159 guest rooms and suites. More importantly, this five star island getaway will feature Bellevue’s signature brand of subtle elegance and dedicated service.
