The one chance to hear Filipino balladeer par excellance  Basil "The Golden Voice" Valdez  is finally here as the "Basil Valdez in Bohol" concert unfolds at the Bohol Tropics this Saturday,  May 19 at 9 in the evening. This is the first ever concert of the Ballad King who relishes his forthcoming date with thousands of Boholano fans and the TBTK delegates many of who look at his repertoire as a virtual "song chronicle of their lives".  It has been close to 40 years since the smash hit by George Canseco's "Ngayon at Kailan Man" lorded it over the airlanes and seeing Basil Valdez in person for the first time, for many fans, is worth all the wait.  The evening will be a celebration of immortal love songs and ballads and some healing tunes(see separate article)  that can be spiced up perhaps by Barry Manilow medleys, English 70 Hits and a Michel Legrand medley. Boholano fans are enjoined to ask for more "encores" if they are angling to hear more songs from Valdez repertoire.
