Biggest shabu haul busted in Dauis; suspect recidivist

T A drug personality who has a pending case of the same offense before a regional trial court was busted of his operations in Totolan, Dauis town, Wednesday, netting for the raiding team the biggest haul of the prohibited substance known in street lingo as shabu. Seized during a buy-bust operations involving Jessie Raymond Estonina y Lumba of Pamaong Extention, this city, was almost half a kilo of shabu or 300 grams while he transacted business with a poseur-buyer inside Purok 6 in Totolan, Dauis town. Subsequent investigation showed the suspect was billeted at the nearby Olman’s View in Totolan, Dauis. Believing that more drug inventory is found in the suspect’s room, the raiding team made up of Dauis policemen and operatives of Camp Dagohoy, applied a search warrant to break entry into his room while its occupant was in detention at the Dauis jail.

According to Dauis police, the quantity of the prohibited drugs seized in the raid was considered the biggest haul in the history of buy-bust operations this year carried out by the local police unit. Aside from the big bulk of shabu, several pieces of the crystalline substance were found by the raiding team in the suspect’s room apparently ready for retail distribution to his contacts of drug pushers in this city and neighboring towns. Marked money amounting to P3,000 and other drug paraphernalia were found during the raid. Estonina, considered in police files as a recidivist has a pending case also for violation of the Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 pending before Executive Judge Suceso Arcamo. He is reported to be a parolee for another drug offense. With his latest brush with the law, the suspect is now facing another case for violation of Sections 5, 11, and 12 of Article 11 of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 as amended. The cases were filed Friday by the Dauis PNP under Police Inspector Nino Lawrence Ibo, chief of police of Dauis.
