CALAPE.- This town is one of only two municipalities in Bohol the equivalent of a business park – the mari culture park is again a recipient of a state of the art seaweeds processing conducted by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) at barangay Catmonan. On October 18. Calape has allocated 220 hectares of Mari Culture sea farm land suitable to seaweeds and other marine culture such as fish cages and pens during the leadership of Mayor Sulpicio Yu Jr., and the Sangguniang Bayan. Local officials led by Mayor Yu have aggressively started a fish port at the heart of the sea situated at the center of the longest causeway of Bohol at Kinubkuban San Isidro, Calape town. A P6.7 million from BFAR is pledged to complete the project.
