A total of 64 bikers joined the fun ride dubbed “Sa Busao Kini” or SBK recently at Plaza Rizal, this city to barangay Busao in Maribojoc town. The ride, which started at 6:00 am, was participated in by members representing the bikers’ groups:  Paseo de Loon, Sequi Usus, Duero Bikers, “P adyakers”, Wahines and the HNU Bikers led by Fr. The SBK, which traversed a total of 18 kilometers, from this city to Cortes to Maribojoc, was a fund raising for the physical expansion of the San Isidro Labrador Quasi Parish of Busao. It is the only parish in the Diocese of Tagbilaran and the whole Bohol island province administered by the Society of the Divine Word or SVD, the same religious congregation running the Holy Name University (formerly the Divine Word College) and the Holy Name Medical Center. Sponsored by the Society of the Divine Word and the Paseo de Loon, the SBK was also assisted by 15 volunteers.

The registration of the SBK was pegged at P100/rider, generating a total registration of P 6,400. T otal donation to the Busao San Isidro Labrador Quasi Parish amounted to P 156,400, with P100,000.00 from a donor and P56,400 in the name of the bikers. A short program for the bikers was witnessed by the people of Busao headed by Barangay Captain Erico Napiñas and the SVD Community represented by Fr. Florante S. Camacho, SVD, parish priest of San Isidro Labrador Quasi Parish, Fr. Vic Uy, SVD and Fr. Nestor Ubalde, SVD. The donation was presented by David Aliño in behalf of the bikers to Fr. Camacho, SVD, during the program. A raffle was also done as well as the awarding of certificates of participation. A picture-taking was made in front of the church. The bikers attended the Sunday mass in Busao before heading home. Also lending support to the  activity was the Office of the Governor through the Medical Outreach Unit (MOU) and the O ffice of the Provincial PNP through the Maribojoc PNP unit. Providing merienda for the bikers and organizers with butong, biko and others were donations from the Busao community.
