The City of Tagbilaran has a new police chief. Barely warming his seat at the city’s top cop, Supt. Arcadio Jamora, Jr. was relieved of his duties to go on “ schooling chores”. The new police chief, Police Supt. Gil del Prado, was said to be the top choice of City Mayor Dan Neri Lim in a field of five contenders. Before his new assignment which will start next week, Supt. Del Prado until lately, was the Assistant Provincial Director for Operations in the Provincial Police Office. Before his stint in the provincial PNP, he was assigned in the regional Mobile Group-7. His last assignment before his stint in Bohol was as head of the Siquijor Provincial Police Office and then at the Mandaue City police office.

The new COP comes from Malate, Manila, but is married to a Boholana from Bilar Del Prado is a Philippine National Police Academy graduate Class 1989. It was a surprise that Mayor Lim selected him from the five names recommended by Bohol Provincial Director Senior Supt. Constantino Paul Barot Jr., Bohol PNP director. Barot said he was waiting for Mayor Lim’s acceptance letter so that he can schedule the turnover of command.
