A drive to rid the city of police characters preying on guests coming for the Sandugo celebration netted a total of seven pickpockets. Two of the suspects were males while the rest were made up of an all- woman gang. The two males were identified as Christopher Navales, 32, of Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City while his cohort was identified as Joriz Glen Guanao, 40, married of Ozamis City. The female gang was composed of Jeny Flor, 22, of Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro, Maricel Lampanado, 24, Jenalyn Pandomaneso, 22, all of Pananungan, Quezon City, Riza Mae Castro of Pasil, Cebu and Mica Cruz of Cagayan de Oro City. All seven suspects were arrested at the Island City Mall by a police team led by Police Inspector Adriano Bacus. According to police reports, the suspects were seen in the mall’s closed circuit TV suspiciously loitering the area. The seven are now placed behind bars at the city lock up jail. Police authorities believed that the seven were responsible for the series of pickpocket incidents in the city’s malls.
