TUBIGON.- The Rural Health Unit (RHU) culminated the month-long celebration of National Nutrition Month with the theme, “Isulong ang Breastfeeding- Tama, Sapat at Eksklusibo” on July 29. The event kicked off with a parade participated in by students of academic institutions in the town, barangay nutrition scholars, and health workers. The parade was also highlighted with a float bearing the Hara sa Nutrisyon Chona Restauro and her royal court. After the parade, a program was held to award the Well- Babies, Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Outstanding Barangays and Outstanding Purok Center.
Baranggay Panadtaran bagged the Healthiest Barangay Award while Bilangbilangan got the Best Innovative Practices. And on the other hand, Baby Ahiezer Dan Alipoyo was proclaimed as the Well-Baby for this year. Mr. Froilan Cosgafa, the administrative assistant, stressed the importance of breastfeeding versus the commercial milk sold in packs and cans. Other talks were given by Hon. Ernesto Mascarinas, Rural Health Unit Head Dr. Bob Batausa and Municipal Nutrition Coordinator Faye Boligao. Various presentations from different institutions provided an intermission break for spectators. |
