The Municipality of Tubigon has teamed up with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in its eco-tourism projects discussed at the town’s Municipal Hall last June 16, 2011. Mayor William Richard Jao met with DENR Regional Director Maximo O. Dichoso, PENRO Nestor Canda, and CENRO Eusalem Quiwag to deliberate and talk about the town’s proposal of the expansion of the Mangrove Forest and its conversion into a Nature Park Boulevard as part of the tourism enhancement of Tubigon. Another issue tackled between the two parties was the amendment of Presidential Proclamation 116, to change the use of land in a certain area within the town’s vicinity from playground to commercial lot. The land, which is located beside Tubigon Commercial Complex was proclaimed to be used as a playground and now be converted to commercial use so as to utilize the property appropriately.
