At least two angles are being looked into involving the killing of a former casual-guard of the Bohol Detention and Rehabilitation Center (BDRC) late yesterday afternoon along the highway in Booy district, this city. According to SPO3 Edgar Chan, duty criminal investigator, the fatality was identified as Desiderio Ruel Bayocboc, 42, married and a native of del Carmen Weste, Balilihan town. Responding policemen found the lifeless body of the ex-BDRC guard near the Booy Elementary School after they were informed by eyewitnesses in the area.

The same police investigator said they have a hard time making a breakthrough in the on-going probe owing to the indifference of uncooperative witnesses. Police, however, are looking into reports that the killing involved a third party as a result of love triangle issues. Investigators are also pursuing an angle involving drugs. It was gathered that the victim carried an affair with another woman although he was married in his hometown of Balilihan. The live-in partner hails from sitio Talisay in Taloto. According to reports, he worked as a casual at the BDRC during the time of former governor Rene Relampagos.

AUTOPSY

An autopsy conducted by Dr. Apollo John Bernaldez of the city health department showed that the victim suffered at least two gunshot and stab wounds. Police are still looking into the motive of the killing although reports said that prior to the incident, the victim was involved in gun-poking in the nearby sitio of Talisay in Taloto. The same police investigation showed that the victim was on the way to the police station to verify the alleged gun poking incident only to be waylaid by two motorcycle riding suspects. According to the friend of the victim, they have a drinking spree in Talisay before the incident happened. The victim now lies in state at the Holy Name Funeral Homes along CPG Avenue, this city.
