Bombay Bazaar rob solved in 31 hours

Suspect captured in S-Bullones

Less than 31 hours, the early morning armed robbery of Tagbilaran Bombay Bazaar along B.Inting St., this city, Friday involving a loot of P200,000, was solved in record time. This was announced last night by Senior Supt. Constantino Barot, Jr, provincial police director, who said a combined team of Camp Dagohoy and city operatives captured the suspect at about 4:00 pm yesterday. He was identified as Patricio Magdora, age unknown of Pilar town. He was arrested inside the S-Bullones Cockpit Arena. Two of his cohorts in the robbery are still at large and it was believed that their capture was expected to happen anytime last night. Chief Inspector Jovito Atanacio, team leader of the 10-man posse’, when interviewed last night, said that they are still in hot pursuit of the two remaining suspects. According to Supt. Barot, the three suspects who held up the Bombay Bazaar were identified in a police line up at Camp Dagohoy. They were identified as the robbery suspects by the security guard known as Mariano Boquila of Arowana Security Agency. He is from San Roque, Talibon town. Two salesgirls likewise identified the three suspects.

The hold-up happened at about 8:00 am Friday while the store was about to open. One of the suspects grappled the gun of the guard and announced the hold–up. Daring by all means, the robbery took place near a busy intersection. The bazaar, located beside Rose Pharmacy, has been a victim of another hold up not too long ago. The fall of the bazaar robbery suspect in S-Bullones solved at least two past robberies of LBC branches in Loon and Jagna during the month of May. Last month saw the rise in robbery cases in Bohol which recorded a total of 41. Among the prominent ones included a heist of a gasoline station in Talibon and an airline and shipping ticketing office in Tubigon. Asked to comment why robbers have apparently became bolder in their capers, Supt. Barot said it was due to the passive attitude of victims. He said victims should always be assertive in their complaints against suspects instead of being indifferent as witnesses and or complainants. By: DODONG LIBATONA
