The Chatto-Lim Administration formally launched the the T.a.R.S.I.E.R. or Telephone and Radio Systems Integrated Emergency Response as a Quick Response Unit (QRU) in the province in the special Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting Friday. Bohol Gov. Edgar M. Chatto and Provincial Administrator Alfonso “Ae” Damalerio II, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) Operations Officer, formally presented to council members Bohol's Emergency Response Number “117,” the province's counterpart to America's 911, where all emergencies would be reported, and which in turn would be relayed to the proper agencies concerned, for a quicker response and law enforcement operations.
The full council meeting was attended by the Philippine National Police (PNP) top brass who flew in directly from Camp Crame with Dep. Dir. Gen. Perfecto Palad, Deputy Chief PNP for Administration who came over in lieu of Police Dir. and PNP Chief Gen. Raul Bacalso. PA Damalerio flashed a wide grin after his immense scores of efforts were at last realized after non-stop negotiations with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) so that all the necessary measures could be taken to facilitate the speedy processing of all the requirements in putting up the T.a.R.S.I.E.R. to enforce peace and order in the province.
Gov. Chatto and PA Damalerio beamed with pride after the ceremonial switching “on” of the T.a.R.S.I.E.R. hotline signaling the formal ties hooking-up the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) with telecommunication companies Globe Telecomm and the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company. The governor issued the directive that all Local Government Units (LGUs) should form emergency response units in their respective towns and requested PA Damalerio to coordinate with all mayors in the province. Gov. Chatto and PA Damalerio's concerted efforts, together with Vice- Governor Concepcion Lim and the Provincial Board Members conclusively shows that the Chatto-Lim Administration is committed to “lead Bohol to continued development.” (/EDCom)
