Mayor Abrenilla answers Jagna people's clamor

JAGNA – Wasting no time, immediately after Mayor Fortunato Abrenilla assumed office on June 30, 2010, he addressed the clamor of the people concerning the road condition proximate to the town public market. Sensing the urgency of the project, the newly-minted mayor appropriated funds from local sources for the concreting of the road intersection at the river side and the arc fronting the public market. The first appropriation for this project amounted to P758,917.00. The intersection was opened to traffic on November 1, 2010 and the arc fronting the market opened in October 2010. It was a welcome change after months of suffering the “dusty” public market area as complained by motorists and the general public.

Mayor Abrenilla acted immediately as these areas form part of the “façade” the town is showing to the commuters plying the national highway, a health hazard to the Jagna-anons constantly passing by and those earning their living in the market. Engr. Josefina Rañoa, municipal engineer, said the concreting of the public market arc and portion of the road intersection is the first project of Mayor Abrenilla after assuming office. She further added that the mayor was keen on concreting the areas surrounding the market as this are the busiest areas in all of Jagna. The second set of concreting with an appropriation of P337,000 coming from the 2010 budget is the ongoing project near the Jagna kiosk managed by the Municipal Engineering Office.
