The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) released to the Municipality of Jagna its findings on the recent national road cracks found in barangay Mayana. The Rapid Field Assessment Team of the MGB who visited the site last November 22, 2010 revealed that Purok 1 and Purok 2 in Brgy Mayana have “high susceptibility to landslides”. The team advised the municipality to initiate readiness measures in case a disaster will arise. Seven houses have been affected and one household has been advised to vacate their abode because of the potential risk brought about by the movement. The team said that the movement is expected to continue especially when rains come. The MGB has issued a Landslide Threat Advisory to Mayana Brgy. Capt. Sofronio Gallano.
