BCCAP Land and Housing Project launched in Dauis

“A house is not a home when there's no one there,” as a classical song goes. But the homeowners' association of Bohol Concerned Citizens Action for Progress (BCCAP) promised that theirs would always be Christian homes filled with joy, happiness and love for God and each other. It took six agonizing years for the members of BCCAP to realize their life-long dream of owning their own homes but last December 9, their dream became a reality for the site for the BCCAP Land and Housing Project was launched in Songculan, Dauis through the joint efforts of World Vision Foundation, the Social Action Center and the Provincial Government of Bohol which was supported by the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dauis.

l Governor Edgar M. Chatto and Mayor Jaime Jimenez of Dauis were beaming with pride and words of thanks flowed from them both which were addressed to all the province's partners in helping the 12 initial indigent families own their own homes, coupled with the certainty that a total of 178 houses will be built on said housing site in due time. Chatto said that building a house is not just for the mere construction of it but for the express hope of “building communities where there is peace, solidarity and teamwork in every home.” The governor is very grateful to all our partners in making Bohol and all its communities build strong ties among family members and see young, prayerful people help their elders improve their lot in life by continuing to persevere in building Christian communities amidst our society's illegalities and social ills.
