The Association of Tagbilaran Amateur Cyclists (ATAC) and the Bohol Mountain Bikers Association (BOHMB) visited the Municipality of Jagna last November 28, 2010. Jagna was their take-off point in a 10-day ride towards PEACE billed as Bisayang Dako Alang sa Kalinaw (BISDAK) – a ride for Peace and Solidarity in Mindanao. The ten day ride is expected to traverse some conflict areas in some Mindanao provinces. This is aimed at “breaking barriers of prejudice and ignorance in order to understand better the plight of the people of Mindanao”. There 100 bikers who joined in the ride to Mindanao, three from Jagna. The Jagna Tourism offered a program in honor of this worthy cause with no less than the local chief executive himself Atty. Fortunato R. Abrenilla giving an inspirational message. Mr. Rey Cimeni, president of the ATAC introduced the ride participants while Mr. Jude Cabusao, president of the BOHMBA gave the rationale and purpose of the event. MS, Elizabeth Balaba, Municipal Toursim officer gave the closing remarks. The bikers were then off to Jagna port to continue in their mission for peace. By Amiela Singco-Balaba
