BACLAYON- A Puerto Rican beauty who was fourth runner up in the 2009 Miss Universe beauty pageant committed to donate bicycles to children of poor families in this municipality. Miss Puerto Rico Maira Matos made the pledge on the occasion of the 414 th Foundation Day of Baclayon last Wednesday. She was a guest of Joel Uichico, executive director of the Bezo Recreational and Aquatic Activities of Bohol, a livelihood outfit funded by the Ayala Foundation. Upon learning of the commitment, Mayor Alvin Uy, directed Marina Arcamo, social welfare officer of the town, to identify the beneficiaries of the bike donation. According to the foundation day visitor, the bike will be for use of children who cannot afford to pay for their fares in going to school. As part of her Baclayon visit, the Miss Puerto Rico toured around Baclayon elementary schools to familiarize herself with the recipients of her donation.
