“A healthy Tubigon starts with me”. This was the idea espoused by Dr. Bob Bernabe Pozon Batausa, municipal health officer and municipal nutrition action officer wanted to be instilled in the minds of the constituents of this 1st class municipality. A physician by profession, he holds dual responsibility in overseeing the day to day operations of the Municipal Health Office and the effectiveness of the programs implemented by the Municipal Nutrition Council. In a way, he is truly a force to reckon with in terms of promoting healthy and active townspeople. Hand in hand with other municipal agencies, this busy office is at the helm of the inter-agency implemented programs and projects. Due to its dedication and zeal in their tasks, the municipality's nutrition council has been a consistent recipient of the Green Banner Award for three consecutive years from 2007-2009. As a result, it was conferred the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner for Nutrition (CROWN) Award.

This award is being conferred upon the decision of the Regional Nutrition Council upon tedious evaluation and inspection in terms of the efficiency and effectiveness of its various nutrition and health programs. Foremost among its programs are Home-School/Community Food Production, Micronutrient Supplementation, Food Fortificatioin, Livelihood Assistance, Essential and Maternal Child Care, Food Assistance, Enabling Mechanisms and Nutritional Information/Education Campaign. The bachelor nutrition head (Batausa) of Tubigon must be smiling from ear to ear as he is tasked to schedule a trip to Manila on 4 November 2010 in order to receive the award from and the cash prize of two hundred fifty thousand pesos (PhP 250,000.00) together with his colleagues from his office. The said award would be conferred at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila by the executives of the National Nutrition Council. Ask what they're going to do with the cash prize, Dr. Batausa gladly replies that it will be definitely put to good use to rebuild a decent Nutrition office and to fund other various projects in order to stay on top on their game as one of the Healthiest Municipality in Bohol.
