DOLE gives P1.8-M grant to local NGOs

 

In response to the continuing poverty reduction program of the government, the Department of Labor (DOLE) recently released livelihood financial assistance in the total amount of P1.8M to 11 NGOs/POs in the province of Bohol. DOLE-Bohol Provincial Manager Wilson Cenas personally turned-over the check to Governor Edgar Chatto during the recently concluded Signing Ceremony and Turn-over of Agri Equipment at the Bohol Tropics Resort, this city. Governor Chatto lauded the DOLE for being a consistent partner in the Provincial Government's thrust to assist and support farmers and fisher folk enhance production and ensure maximum assistance and access to resources in production, processing and marketing of agricultural, aquaculture and marine products extended to farmers, fishermen and local entrepreneurs.

Among the recipient organizations are the following: Tagbilaran City – Stella Maris Seafarers Family (SMSF) MPC – Longaniza & Peanut Butter TCP – P 105,900.00; SMSF MPC/ Baclayon OFW & Dependents Assn. OFW Helpmates – P 290,291.50; Tinangnan, Tubigon – Panaghugpong sa Katawhan sa Tinangnan (PAKATI) – P 20,000.00; PAKATI – P 150,000.00 – LGU TUBIGON/NATL. ISLA UNLAD KABUHAYAN AWARD. Other beneficiaries are: Danao CARP Beneficiaries Assn. – Native Chicken TCP – P 70,100.00; Taming, Danao – Taming ARC Farmers – Native Chicken TCP – P 63,090.00; Nahud, Danao – Nahud Farmers Assn. – Organic Banana TCP – P 171,783.00; Guingoyuran, Dimiao – Guingoyuran Farmers & Irrigators Assn. – Community Rice Mill – P 157,500.00; Canlusong, Valencia – Canlusong Women;s Assn. – Meat Processing TCP – P 57,519.85; and Talisay, Anda – Talisay Fishermen's Assn. – Taro Food TCP – P 90,000.00.
