Mang Inasal for Pesos 3 billion? A Financial Miracle

Nothing special when coming in into Mang Inasal outlet.  For one hundred pesos including drinks you can have a hearty and tasteful  piece of chicken for P100. But their recipe patterned after Bacolod  style of barbecuing chicken is unique taste not commonly available in other chicken Bacolod restaurants. Originating in a ,lowly place near a supermarket outlet in Iloilo, the company branched out to other parts of the country and at the latest count had 300 stores. The owner Edgar “Injap” Sy is an inspiring story of a husband and wife who started their own business in the province. Although in a smaller dimension, the success story is similar to Steve Jobs of Apple. There are so many ponderables. I suspect that Jollibee, the buyer conducted a due diligence survey on what fast food chain was slowly drawing away the crowd  from their own food chain. As it is now known since two years ago, Mang Inasal's outlets sprouted  in all conceivable places and malls. And slowly they are getting customers right and left because of the price and the taste

After completing the survey, Joillibee decided they wanted to buy the chain and they found a willing seller Without blinking an eye, Mang Inasal accepted the offer. But in all reality, it is possible that Mr. Sia will continue to operate several Mang Inasal branches. And it also possible that Jollibee will also incorporate some of Mang Inasal's menu and chicken taste in their newly launched barbecue chicken Let us remember that the story of Mang Inasal is inspiration to a lot of young kids who are aspiring to start their own business. Mang Inasal  is a trailblazer to many people. Especially that its humble beginnings started in the province of Iloilo . Mr Sia proved that nothing is impossible to create a money maker even if you are in the province. Jollibee and Coke, for that matter had to do what they had to do-- protect their business from fast growing competition. It may recalled that many years back the Concepcion brothers sold Cosmos for close to 15 billion pesos. When news of the purchase of Mang Inasal came out in the papers, Jollibee's stocks in the stock markets rose up which more or less compensate for  the money to buy Mang Inasal.
