Don't look now but our barangay in Jagna has constantly sent representatives to the Jagna municipal jail. First there were four. They were sent upstairs we mean to the provincial jail, in charges of homicide or was it murder? drug usage or was it pushing?, and theft. When they were sent upwards another four took their place, charged with physical injuries. The charge say serious but hopefully it may be downgraded to less serious. There must be something wrong with our place. We never lack candidates for the local caboose. Some say that there are two who are still at large. They must be caught fast lest they may grow larger. We hope that when they are caught, we may stop sending our constituent to jail. We do not know what is there in us. People seem to be violent that they cannot behave themselves under certain circumstances. Perhaps we need a sociologist or psychologists.

There are a lot of crazies. There are two churches and if course a Roman Catholic chapel but does not help any. The culprits do not belong to any sect though they may have been born into one of them. Perhaps, the barangay authorities should do something. The question is barangay laws and any other laws whether local or national are reactive rather than proactive. Like the church, one has to sin first before he could ask forgiveness. One has to commit a crime so they could be haled to court. There should be a legal mind among us, who could make ordinances, which could prevent petty crimes. Then if there is, imposing them would be also a problem. Most of them are related tone another and to barangay authorities. Our tayo tayo system would hamper us from haling those culprits to court unless they harm those who arte not of our vicinity. If after the four had vacated their cots in the jail, if we still have some more – aside from those at large, then we would need some help. This is now becoming ridiculous.
