Corella Water Resources, Inc. targets water supply contracts of Tagbilaran, Dauis, Panglao

An aggressive water provider is pouring in millions of pesos in investments to target the bulk water supply contracts of Tagbilaran City, Corella, Dauis and Panglao. Dubbed as Bohol Bulk Water Supply Project, the new entrant in water supply business has earmarked P260 million at the rate of 30,000 cu. meters per day to service the water needs of three towns and one city. With its president Glecy L. Paez, Corella Water Resources, Inc. is a company known for its water and wastewater treatment systems, equipment and technology provider with extensive experiences in the “municipal” water supply and treatment. Top company officials led by its chief operating officer will be in Dauis tomorrow to attend the session of the Sangguniang Bayan where they will present the company profile sporting its new name Corella Water Resources, Inc.

According to Engr. Arnold Espinosa, CEO of the firm, the water supplier is getting its bulk water supply from its wells in Sambog, Corella. First on the target list is the municipality of Dauis where it signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Mayor Jimmy Jimenez to supply from 5,000 to 10,000 cu. m./day to offset the balance of water supply delivered by its present provider, the Bohol Water Utilities, Inc. BUWI serves the water needs of Dauis pegged at present to 40,000 cu. m. per month but the town's actual needs is double this volume. With 80,000 cu. m., monthly volume, Mayor Jimenez is confident that he will be able to serve the water requirements of Dauis 24/7. At present, BUWI is serving barangays Catarman, Biking, Mayacabac, Poblacion, Totolan, Mariveles and Tinago. Other barangays are having their own water systems that deliver sufficient water supply. This explains why Mayor Jimenez made as his priority during his first days in office the rehabilitation of pumping units found in other barangays not served by BUWI.

CORELLA WATER

With Corella water, supply in Dauis and Panglao is already a foregone conclusion. As for Dauis and Panglao, the water company is noting their growing water demand as progress and development are being experienced in robust pace. In bringing Corella water to Dauis and Panglao, the water outfit will lay some 25 kilometers of main transmission pipelines; eight to 10 main deep wells; water softener system to treat the water hardness; post-clronination system to comply with PNSDW. As of last report, the pipes lines were already laid from its water source in Sambog all the way to Dampas, Tagbilaran City.
