70,000 recipients of medic missions

A series of medical, surgical and dental missions in the province of Bohol the past year if quantified in the number of persons served reached to a whooping 70,000 beneficiaries with a peso equivalent of some P127 million. At the forefront of this huge medical undertaking was the Bohol Health and Social Services Office headed by Francisca Baluyot in partnership with the provincial government. Considered as another big stride in 2009 in the field of health and social services, Baluyot said it was achieved through the unflinching pursuit of the provincial health thrusts and aims spearheaded by the administration of Governor Erico Aumentado and Vice-Governor Julius Caesar Herrera. Baluyot credited it to the two provincial officials' pro-active and united stewardship of the province paving the way for various philanthropic international and national groups and agencies to conduct huge medical, surgical, and dental missions here in Bohol . It was worthy to note that Bohol province topped among other provinces in the Philippines with its numerous Surgical-Medical-Dental Missions in 2009. This part of Bohol 's overall health program was in line with its continuing quest to alleviate the health concerns of the thousands of Boholanos especially those coming from the underprivileged sector or those living beyond the poverty line who could not afford health services at all.
