REP. Roberto Cajes, incumbent congressman of Bohol 's 2nd District and mayoralty wannabe of Trinidad town 98 kilometers northeast of Tagbilaran City Wednesday morning survived a car crash in Barangay Oy of Loboc town. Loboc is around 24 kms. and some 35 minutes from the city. Cajes, his police escort PO2 Dante del Rosario Jr. and his friend from Manila , Richard Cerio, 34, who was driving the gray Nissan Patrol registered in the name of his daughter Jane Censoria, president of the Sangguniang Kabataan National Federation, were on their way to the city.

On reaching Oy at around 10 a.m. , however, the driver who was apparently unfamiliar with the narrow and slippery road tried to avoid an oncoming vehicle. In the process, he failed to return to his lane, lost control of the wheel, smashed onto an electric post, damaging also the railings that serve as protection for vehicles that they may not go off the road and on to deep ravines. Cajes suffered contusions and limped as he got out of the wrecked vehicle. He and Cerio were brought to a private hospital in Tagbilaran. The congressman was later brought to a hospital in Cebu City that afternoon for further treatment, but was discharged later. The responding Loboc police found only del Rosario at the accident site. He said the driver and the other passenger who turned out to be the congressman were already rushed to the hospital.
