DLawyer Alexander Lim, the legal counsel of the suspect in a shooting incident at dawn Sunday along J. Borja St. , this city, declared Tuesday that there was nothing irregular about the release of his client from police custody. The defense lawyer was interviewed over DYTR's Cuentas Claras last Tuesday to shed light behind the circumstances involving the death of an alleged intruder in the Honey Bee Bldg. along J. Borja St . The building is owned by one Eduardo Enerio alias Boy, 56, and tagged as the alleged assailant. According to Lim, the suspect was released from police custody after he posted a cash bond of P40,000. The radio program was bombarded with text messages asking why Enerio was released when no case had yet been filed at that time. Besides, the texters were asking why he was released when it was a Sunday and no judge was available being a holiday.
The suspect's lawyer said although it was a Sunday, he succeeded locating Executive Judge Fernando Fuentes III to issue the release order freeing the suspect from police detention. Lim also succeeded in locating lawyer Romualdo Puagang, RTC Multiple Sala clerk of court to issue the official receipt of the bail bond of P40,000. Meanwhile, a police report of the incident indicated that the victim was not identified at that he was killed. However, when news of the shooting broke out over the air lanes, parents of the victim came forward to identify him. The victim was identified as one Jacklord Decasa of Loay town and said to be a security guard of the nearby Brewpoint Coffee Club. Asked as to the motive of the killing, Lim refused to make details saying that he reserved his comments when the case will find its way in the local courts. Subsequent investigations showed that there's more than meets the eye in the killing of the Brewpoint security guard.
