2 held for hot guns in Pilar raids

 

Two people were arrested after two raids conducted by a joint team in Pilar town. The raids were conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Regional Mobile Group. Reports reaching Camp Dagohoy said the first raid was held Tuesday morning at the residence in Barangay Estaca. Apprehended during the raid was one Ramir Reyes, of legal age, married and a resident of the said place. The raiders recovered a caliber .45 Springfield armory pistol with serial number 378512 with one magazine and seven live bullets.  The raid was conducted on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Fernando Fuentes III of the Regional Trial Court Branch 49 based in Tagbilaran City.  On the other hand, the second suspect was identified as Absaldo Augis alias Lody, 48, a farmer resident of Barangay Poblacion, Pilar. The suspect yielded a caliber .45 Colt MK IV without serial number, two magazines with 10 live bullets for a 9 mm pistol.  The raiding team was led by SPO4 Arsenio Maglinte Jr. of the Pilar PNP station and Chief Insp. Germano Mallari of CIDG Bohol. Both suspects were detained at Camp Dagohoy pending the filing of appropriate charges against them.

Meanwhile, more than P1 million worth of valuables went up in smoke when a fire which broke out at midnight in Barangay del Carmen Este, Balilihan town. SFO2 Rogelio Baluca, Balilihan Bureau of Fire Protection chief, said the fire alarm was received past 12 midnight last Nov. 17. Firemen from Balilihan and Tagbilaran arrived at the scene of the fire which was placed under control after 40 minutes. Investigators said the fire started when a lighted candle was left unattended on a plastic divider.
