Search for Ms. Baclayon up in rites tonight

 

Thirteen local beauties will try to outsmart each other this evening at the Baluarte Reclamation Area in Baclayon to snatch the top three places and other outstanding awards in a beauty and brain competition highlighting the 413th Foundation Day. The town's foundation day culminates on Tuesday after a series of weekly activities preceding the big event. Tonight's coronation of Miss Baclayon Foundation 2009 is the last of the weekly nightly presentations although the big day on Tuesday has lined up a parade and the commemorative program. The search for Miss Baclayon is one of the activities of the town's foundation. The other activities included those presented by the town's 17 barangays.

The 13 contestants representing as many barangays are Jizza Jayagan of Cambanac; Stella Pacana of San Juan Buenaventura; Carmi Oppus of Laya; Honey Dacula of Libertad; Alyn Elman of Montana; Deth Opada of Pamilacan; Ann Bangot of Payahan; Eight Javier of Poblacion; Ren-ren Mapute of Sta. Cruz; Anne Mae Jumang-it of San Roque; Renz Batoy of San Vicente ; Kaye Obrigon of Taguihon; and Sharleen Adobo of Landican.

Senator Manuel Villar was invited as the guest of honor during the coronation night. He will also crown the Miss Baclayon. Other prominent personalities expected to grace the coronation night are Bea Zobel de Ayala, Joel Uichico and Hans Schoof. The board of judges which will decide the fate of the 13 contestants is composed of Pureza Chatto, wife of Cong. Edgar Chatto; Sunshine Cruz, wife of actor Cesar Montano; Lani Schoof, wife of Hans Schoof; Jennifer Cruz, owner of Baclayon Bread and Breakfast; and model Abdul Wallace. Before the presentation of candidates is the welcome address of Mayor Alvin Uy. This will be preceded by the awarding of Miss Friendship, Miss Avon and Best in Production Number. The main sponsors of the beauty pageant are the Peacock Garden Luxury Resort and Spa and Bohol Coconut Palm Resort.
