LTO man is shot head just across hundreds of meters from PNP's Camp Dagohoy

 

A daring hit was carried out by an unidentified assailant in a place near the police headquarters of Camp Dagohoy Involving a casual worker of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Tagbilaran Tuesday early evening. The crime scene is located just hundreds of meters from the Camp Dagohoy headquarters of the Philippine National Police Bohol Command. The victim was identified as one Apolinario “Paul” Reyes, of legal age and a native of Sagbayan town. Reyes was shot in front of the LTO Tagbilaran office about 7:30 pm last June 9 just across J.A. Clarin, the seat of Bohol 's PNP command. Henry Ancog of LTO Tagbilaran told Station DyTR that Reyes had just arrived at the office from Cortes town where a team of which he was a member had apprehended violators. Reyes sustained a bullet wound on his head which caused his instantaneous death.

The suspect immediately fled the scene on a motorcycle. Initial reports revealed that the LTO team had earlier apprehended a passenger bus but driver fled before the apprehending team could confront him. Reyes drove the bus after it was ordered impounded by the team and had just alighted from it when he was shot. SPO1 Yolando Bagotchay, Tagbilaran duty investigator said one of the angles that they are pursuing concerns those who have been displeased by the apprehensions. Meanwhile, a tricycle driver died after he was manhandled in a videoke bar in Ubay town. The victim was identified as Jerome Boiser, 34, single and a resident of Barangay Union, Ubay. Investigators learned that the victim was inside the bar with friends past 10 pm last Thursday.  He got into an argument with another customer which worsened and led to the mauling.  Boiser was brought to the Don Emilio del Valle Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. 

Meanwhile, two men were arrested in Pilar town for their involvement in the theft of 18 fighting cocks in Danao town.  The suspects were identified as Rolando Aton, 21, a native of Barangay San Vicente, Sierra-Bullones but presently residing in Barangay del Pilar, Pilar town, and Julius Sendrijas, 20, a native of Sta. Fe, Danao. Initial reports bared that last June 2, 18 fighting cocks owned by Geoffrey Cepedoza of Poblacion, Danao were allegedly stolen by the suspects.  A follow-up operation was immediately conducted by the elements of the Danao PNP in coordination with the Pilar PNP station which resulted in the arrest of the two suspects last June 9.  However, only three of the 18 cocks were recovered which the victim confirmed were among those stolen from him.  There was no mention on the value of the stolen cocks. The two suspects were detained at the Danao lock-up jail pending the filing of formal charges against them.
