Kalahi-CIDSS inaugurates P3.37-M projects in Mabini

 

 

The regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Municipal Planning and Development Office of Mabini held a joint blessing and inauguration rites Friday afternoon last week for three sub-projects of KALAHI-CIDSS worth P3.37 million. DSWD-7 Regional Director Teodulo Romo Jr. and Mabini Mayor Stephen Rances led the rites for the P1.32-million water system project in barangay Paraiso, the P835,147 worth water system in barangay Valaga and the P1.22-million asphalting project for the farm-to-market road in barangay Bulawan

For the three sub-projects, phase III of DSWD's Kalahi-CIDSS: KKB or Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive Delivery of Social Services: Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay project has poured a total of P2.34 million as grant for which the beneficiaries raised a total of P1.03 million as local community counterpart (LCC). Kalahi-CIDSS released a grant of P826,744 for the P1.32-million water system project in barangay Paraiso which involved the installation of a submersible pump of which the beneficiary organization raised an LCC of P493,225. For the P835,147 worth water system (gravity-type) in barangay Valaga, Kalahi-CIDSS released a grant of 575,455, while the beneficiary-community raised P259,692 for the LCC.

The two projects were included in the 2007 second cycle of Kalahi-CIDSS project which has sub-projects in eight of the 22 barangays in Mabini. The second cycle grant has reached P6.6 million which gathered a total LCC of P2.92 million for the total of P9.52-million sub-projects. The P1.22-million asphalting project for the farm-to-market road in barangay Bulawan got a grant of P940,600 from Kalahi-CIDSS of which the LCC was P274,768. It is included in the 2006 first cycle of the Kalahi-CIDDS sub-projects worth P8.8 million spread throughout seven more barangays which contributed a total LCC of P2.2 million for another P6.6-million grant.

Kalahi-CIDSS project has poured a total of P13.2 million as grant for the P18.32-million total worth of sub-projects for 15 barangays in Mabini. Beneficiary-organizations in 15 of the 22 barangays in Mabini were able to raise a total of P5.12 million as LCC. Other community sub-projects under the second cycle of Kalahi-CIDSS in Mabini are the P1.35-million bridge in barangay Abaca, P908,200 worth road project in barangay Abad Santos, P1.18-million gravity water system in barangay Cawayanan, P1.28-million gravity-type water system in barangay San Jose, P1.55-million gravel road project in barangay Tambo, and the P1.1-million gravity-type water system in barangay Tangkigan.

Other community sub-projects under the first cycle of Kalahi-CIDSS in the municipality are the P1.37-million upgrading and expansion of level II waterworks system in barangay Baybayon, P1.19-million asphalting of farm-to-market road in barangay Cabidian, P1.2-million upgrading and expansion of level II waterworks system in barangay Concepcion, P1.4-million upgrading and expansion of level II waterworks system in barangay Del Mar, P1.26-million asphalting of farm-to-market road in barangay Marcelo and the P1.18-million upgrading and expansion of level II waterworks system in barangay San Rafael.
