Poblacion Sur lass grabs Miss Carmen crown for this year

 

 

CARMEN-Reigning as Miss Carmen 2008 is a fourth year high school student of Bohol Wisdom School who hails from barangay Poblacion Sur. This year's pageant was anchored on the theme, “Beauty and Substance for a Cause” manifests the role of a Carmenanon woman in the promotion of Carmen as a tourism, agricultural and livelihood haven in the province. Aside from beauty, the candidates were also judged based on their commitment to make a difference in their respective barangays and the town in general. Miss Carmen 2008 Bregith Dawn Torres is the daughter of Joeped Torres and Bregith Dolotina-Torres. For special awards, Torres got P500 for Best in Interpretation, P500 for Miss GRAMS Freight Inc., P1,500 for Miss Powerhouse and P6,000 worth of training review at Powerhouse Training and Review Center. For the major prize, she got the cash prize of P5,000, and P30,000 worth of barangay development project. In full support was Barangay Captain Susan Buga.

First runner-up was Isabel Joy Ancog of Nueva Vida Sur, a freshman Medical Technology student of South Western University . She is the daughter of Marcelo Ancog and Hedilita Sandimas. She also received P500 for the special award on Best in Production Number, P500 for Best in Production Attire award, P500 for Miss Photogenic courtesy of Aldea, P500 for Best in Swimsuit, a gift pack from Unilever Philippines, P3,000 for Miss Beauche Face and a one-year supply of beauche products, and Miss Bohol tropics which entitled her to one-night stay at the hotel. For the major prize, she received cash award of P3,000, and P20,000 worth of barangay development project.

Nueva Vida Sur Barangay Captain Victor Tesio was there in full support for Ancog. Second runner-up was Gina Cinco of barangay Katipunan, a first year nursing student of Holy Name University. In full support for her were her parents, Pedro Cinco and Leonila Jumawid and Katipunan Barangay Captain Estrella Cajote. She also received P500 for the Miss Congeniality award. For the major award, she received P2,000, and P10,000 worth of development project.

The candidate from barangay Poblacion Norte, Sarah Mae Cesar got P500 for the Aldea Image Model award and another P500 for the Best in Evening Gown award. Cesar, daughter of Alex Cesar and Evelyn Polinar, is a fourth year student of St. Anthony Academy. Behind her bid was Poblacion Norte Barangay Captain Romeo Bigay. Liezl Rubia of barangay Guadalupe got P500 for the Beauty for a Cause award and gift pack for the Miss Head and Shoulders award. Rubia is a third year BSED student of CVSCAFT-Tagbilaran City . She is the daughter of Ponciano Rubia and Lucia Jumawan. Behind her bid was Guadalupe Barangay Captain Jose Gumapac. The Miss Aldea Smile worth P500 went to Juvaniel Yecyec of barangay Tamboan, a first year nursing student of HNU. She is the daughter of Adolfo Yecyec and Virgilia Polinar. In full support to her bid was Tamboan Barangay Captain Reynaldo Polinar.
