Come SEPTEMBER 30, 2006 , Binibining Pilipinas World 2006 ANNA MARIZ ARCAY IGPIT from Panglao, Bohol, will represent the Philippines in the prestigious MISS WORLD 2006 competition in WARSAW , POLAND . Mariz, the 5'7" BS Tourism student of Southwestern University, Cebu City , is the daughter of Allan Guimalan Igpit and Ma. Socorro Arcay Igpit. To date, she holds the highest honor in Bohol 's beauty pageant history. Please cascade/share the information with other people, Boholanos in particular, and Filipinos in general, who would be willing to support Mariz. Some people may not understand why this excitement, eagerness, enthusiasm and commitment on my part to campaign for Mariz. It's just that I have known this charming and smart girl personally when I emceed the talent competition of the Miss Bohol Sandugo 2003 (July 2003, Bohol Cultural Center, Tagbilaran City ). That year, she was first runner-up. In 2004, she gave prestige to our Bohol Lions when she represented our Tagbilaran City Host Lions Club in the Cebu tilt (February 2005, Casino Filipino, Waterfront Hotel-Lahug, Cebu City ) where she won the Miss Photogenic, Best in Gown and Best in Swimsuit awards, but was "deprived" of the Miss Lions crown after the organizers learned she was not anymore a first-timer to beauty pageants. Also, I had the chance to be with her when she won the Miss Bohol Sandugo 2005 (July 2005, Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium, Tagbilaran City ) title as I was member of the working ommittee of last year's pageant. For the record, half of me is Panglaoanon because my Papa Rep is a Panglaoanon himself (both his parents, Demetrio Araoarao and Clotilde Bongoyan, are from Panglao) and he had also served as mayor of Panglao from 1980 to 1986.

If, in these recent times we may have supported Baclayon's CESAR MONTANO in his critically-acclaimed films, JEROME SALA UCAB of Pilar, Bohol in ABS-CBN's "Star in a Million" national singing tilt, REY “BOOM-BOOM” BAUTISTA (Candijay and Tagbilaran City ) and CZAR AMONSOT ( Tagbilaran City ) in their international titled fights, JONATHAN CAJES REYSON ( Tagbilaran City and Talibon) and CHERREL JUSTINIANI DEIPARINE (Inabanga) in their international dancesport championship victories, the famed LOBOC CHILDREN'S CHOIR in their International Folk Song Competition accolades in Barcelona , Spain in 2003, NOELA MAY BUHION EVANGELISTA, crowned Queen of Tourism International in 2003 in Cancun , Mexico who traces her roots in Bohol (could be the first Boholana to have won an international beauty competition for the Philippines , based on the interview of Reigh P. Monreal, Tourism Officer of Loon, Bohol ) and the many other Boholanos who have excelled in various competitions and noteworthy endeavors through text votes, inspiring messages and prayers, let us then give our support to Mariz, who best represents the charm and undaunted spirit of the Filipinos, in her bid for the Miss World 2006 crown.
