Discover Bohol - PH TOURISM PROMOTED ON QATAR TV CHANNEL

18 February 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Wilfredo C. Santos was interviewed by Check-Inn TV on February 03 where he promoted Philippine tourism. Check-Inn TV is an international tourism satellite channel that is seen across 25 countries in the Middle East and North African region. Ambassador Santos highlighted the “Visit the Philippines Again 2016” campaign, which he hopes would draw in more tourists from Qatar and the rest of the region as the Middle East has been identified as a priority opportunity market for Philippine tourism. Among the attractions that the Philippines proudly offers are its stunning beaches, diving sites, and historical landmarks. The country is also a prime destination for shopping and medical tourism, and a country filled with warm Filipino hospitality that is well-known across the globe. The Ambassador also cited ongoing efforts to develop its own halal tourism in recognition of the mainly Muslim tourists from the Middle East and the GCC. Currently, there have been great strides of improvement to the accessibility of the country as many carriers, both Philippine-owned and Gulf airlines, such as Qatar Airways, fly direct to the Philippines.
